Pre-flood speeds could not be collected from a HCPD device destroyed by the May 27, 2018 flood, however, a speed data collection device has been deployed post-flood/post-test calming implementation. As speeding is ultimately an enforcement issue, it is encouraged that citizens contact the HCPD for enforcement, even while the effectiveness of test calming is evaluated.

This issue has not been addressed. Main Street remains without safety signage from Rogers Ave to Ellicott Mills Dr.
Also note that test calming flexposts are not effective as placed.
The previously placed center cones did effectively slow traffic, to the point that vehicles stopped and waited for parking cars and pedestrians crossing roadway. It was the safest Main St has ever been, but now traffic is back to 30-40mph and residents are not safe parking or crossing the road.

This dangerous speeding issue remains.
The flex cones on the shoulder are not slowing traffic.
Cones in the center DID effectively slow traffic, drastically so.
Please don't waste any more money or time. PLEASE help our safety!

This community is historic. My front door is 6' from the road. Children wait for school buses just feet from commuters speeding 40-50mph, at times faster.
Please help us.

Neighbor just reported their vehicle door and mirror were struck while mother was placing baby in vehicle this evening.
Please add signage and enforcement to Main St community from Rogers Ave to Ellicott Mills Drive.
The "Twenty is Plenty" campaign appears to be effective for communities like ours. Please consider safety solutions for our community.

Speed limit sign at community entrance completely hidden by foliage.
Yellow center lines further eroded at dangerous curve.
It's been 10 days since reporting the above, and 391 says since initial request for pedestrians and community safety.
Every night dump trucks speed around this bend. Perhaps a construction zone speed camera?

Speed limit sign at Rogers Ave remains obscured.
Yellow lines at 8572 Main St curve remain eroded away and absent. I cannot overstate the danger in speeding traffic that crosses that line.
Center line flexi posts successfully managed commuter traffic around the bend in West End.
Please don't close this request. As business district popularity increases, traffic through our modestly narrow Main St increases.

REQUESTING PEDESTRIAN SAFETY SIGNAGE
since 04MAY2018
Center lines still eroded.
Spring will bring additional traffic to shops through our community. We also anticipate increased pedestrian traffic as town events continue to increase in frequency.
Our sidewalks are inadequate for pedestrian passage and require egress via Main St. Speeding continues unchecked due to HCPD concerns for safety.
Please take consideration of commUNITY safety seriously, being preoccupied with flood recovery is no longer an excuse for neglect.
