Imskeptical - The proper procedure for reporting a vehicle that has been in place for more than seventy-two hours is to report it through the Abandoned Auto Detail, regardless if people are currently residing in the unit. This information came directly from the Office of the District Three Councilperson, the Mayor's Office, and the Oakland Police Department.
I did not report it as abandoned. I reported it to the Abandoned Auto Detail per the procedure. There is a difference.

imskeptical - Would you please post the federal case information. I have not been able to find any info on that case.
Thanks!

Also, FWIW, I believe most seizure and forfeiture laws will eventually be found unconstitutional, possibly on multiple grounds. It's just that the poor have not had access to the decent legal representation necessary to win these cases. I believe that is about to change.
