...and a bus stop... and a better color of that building... and a coffee place would be good, a few green bench’s, spa, pool so we can swim on hot days, air fresheners, heck, why not a sauna?
Oh my goodness! Now the internet trolls are even on SeeClickFix?! So sad they don’t have a life outside of their computers. 😕 Stefan , there are so many activities to do in St. Petersburg… You could even use your Internet to find those activities! LOL! Either way find something better to do with your life than to troll this site… Oh my goodness so sad....
Thanks for the request for bike racks. I'll be working with the Grand Central District leaders over the coming months to add bike racks to the entire Central Ave corridor through the district. This is definitely one of the planned locations. Please contact me directly if you have any specific feedback or any other topics related to walking or bicycling in the city that you would like to discuss: lucas.cruse@stpete.org
Here’s the thing: Call me a troll, whatever, but in front of my house there has been a broken Curb anyone could trip over and hurt themselves. It’s been there for 3-4 years now. Before Irma, the city/county put a ‘horse-like’ thing over it and a blinking light, when the sun goes down, starts... well... blinking.
I may be overreacting, however, when I see posts here on click-fix about ‘bike racks’ I wonder why are bike racks being highlighted before a broken curb that may result in injury. Maybe it’s just me. I, personally garaged my Buick and primarily bike, so it’s not about ‘bikes vs. cars’ Within my gripe. I’d just like it if priorities to safety were more prevalent in today’s society than extraneous luxuries.
Did you submit your issue to see click fix three years ago or since then? If so if no action was taken did you then contact the codes department maybe go downtown and talk to them or email the head of codes? Or did you contact the mayors action line which every citizen can call at anytime and have their problems addressed? Or have you just sat there and stewed about it and are now moaning about it? Maybe those actions would have been more productive than writing a sarcastic response to a general suggestion about bike racks...
Not sure what “rejections” imused. I wish they would supply a list of words you are not allowed to use on this site ! I simply responded to your post by asking if you had contacted the codes department about your issue? And if they didn’t respond if you tried to call the mayors action line which every citizen has the right to call at any time? Or if you just let the issue gnaw at you and now you’re posting a grievance here without ever trying to resolve the issue?

Goldenwolf, no stewing nor was there any gnawing over or on anything here. I’m simply stating that last year, right before the hurricane the city finally put a ‘horse’ with an orange blinker over the broken curb, hurricane happened, there was much debris the city had to attend to, and now after months have gone by the horse is still here with the curb still broken. Yet, ‘bike racks’ are more important than the safety of our citizens.
I know where the hazard is; I’m going to be okay. This is basically a point in reference as to how ‘clickfix’ doesn’t have their priorities in order.
So you didn’t submit this issue to see click fix? And you didn’t go down and talk to the code department or try to call the mayors action line ask them when it would be fixed? But you ARE complaining that it hasn’t been taken care of. That’s MY point. And if you look around the city you’ll see that there are a bunch of those “horses” around and if you bothered to call the city and ask you would find out that they are starting to repair all of the curbs and sidewalks throughout the city but it’s not something they can just do piecemeal as that’s inefficient. You have to understand the process and the tools needed and the manpower required in order to understand why it’s easier to do all of them at the same time. But bottom line is you should call city when you have a problem instead of just complaining.
To be perfectly clear: You cannot make a statement that see click fix has its priorities backwards when you have not even submitted your issue to see click fix !!
Okay, so yes, I submitted this to clickfix and they then, after a few years, threw a metal horse that blinks at night on the topic at hand. No, I have not called any authority since then. That’s my point though: Is clickfix working? Apparently it is for some and not for others. The question is, is it picking and choosing the easy as opposed to the not so easy? My point is that it’s a flawed system that has been proved itself to be a flawed system when (for example) a bike rack request has more validity than an injury prone situation. Keep in mind that the ‘bike rack’ request is in front of a building that has been sold, evicted all the businesses (Nitally’s for example) and is now a mute point. Hey, it’s an upside down world these days, no disagreement on this, so why turn it over and over again and again like a vicious circle?
The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews old SeeClickFix reports in an effort to clean-up past issues that were resolved some time ago. We are now marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website or mobile app and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
