Description
Currently it is 35mph with a "suggested" 15mph, uphill, around the bend. This area is NOTORIOUS for accidents. A few years back there were 4 within 36 hours. Sunday, June 27th, a young woman took the turn too fast, crossed into the opposite lane and went into the woods. Change it from "suggested" with a little yellow-orange sign to an actual 15mph around the turn or drop the first mile or so from 9W to 20-25mph. Oh yeah, ENFORCE IT!

I think that stretch just needs a few minor improvements, such as installing some street-lights, better reflectors around the curves, and yellow and white pavement lines which were brighter and more visible. Then the speed limit wouldn't have to be lowered quite as drastically as you suggest.
After all, the speed limits on many of our roads in New York State are being lowered too much already, which is a big hassle for motorists already crawling along on roads with artificially low speed limits.

By the way, the two bikers involved in the aforementioned accident, she's an EMT, he's a cop. They should know better.
