Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Does the water appears to be clear or is it sewage? Also, does the hole appears to be sinking or is it a general pothole? This information will help us better process your request.   I don't know where the water is coming from but the water is muddy. There is not a strong odor of sewage, but it is not fresh smelling. The hole is on the edge of the road and has grown in the past two weeks. Because the road is narrow, you have to go into oncoming lane to maneuver around it.
