There are Roosters crowing all day on this street, from at least 2 or 3 different houses. There used to be one, then two, now more and more.Against city ordinance but I don't know who enforces this.

I’m near you and I had to tell my neighbor there rooster had to go. They are illegal to have in New Haven as well as other regulations regarding chickens-maximum amount, they have to be a certain amount of feet from the neighbor’s property, and fenced. I printed out a website page and showed them. Luckily we’re friendly with each other.
It is very rude for someone to have an illegal rooster. From 4:00 am to 7:00 am it was loud and piercing and could be heard all around the neighborhood. Shutting windows doesn’t help, but people shouldn’t have to especially as we don’t have air-conditioning.
These comments here are insensitive. Barking dogs, roosters, loud music, etc can make neighbors’ lives hell. People need sleep!

You're right, sorry folks. When I looked at a map, I incorrectly thought the location was in the middle of nowhere. Now, I can see it is in a suburb. New Haven has a noise ordinance which prohibits excessive noise before 7:00am or past 10:00pm Monday through Saturday or 9:00am to 9:00pm on Sundays.
The New Haven Police Department has decibel meters they can use to measure reports of excessive noise.
