You installed "stop for pedestrian" signs in the street about a month ago on this crosswalk and farther down Florida Avenue. They have been hit so many ones that they are now gone. Please replace them or, better yet, come up with a more permanent solution that will actually make it safe to use this crosswalk. Signals or stop signs would be lovely. So would raised intersections. This is needed because cars routinely speed between Rhode Island and North Capitol Street. Thanks!

Agreed. It doesn’t seem like DC is serious about zero deaths for pedestrians and cyclists with the type of behavior drivers regularly exhibit at crosswalks.
Another very bad spot is the crosswalk at NJ Ave and Florida Ave at 5th St NW. Cars regularly speed around the corner from a Florida Ave to NJ, ignoring pedestrians in the crosswalk with walk lights on. At this point it would be better for the curve to be just taken out if drivers are going to ignore the lights.
