I have just gone by this unbelievable mess again, it's insane these lot owners can gather up months of debris and just pile it on the sidewalks so no one can pass. At the very least this is a hazard and now that the city has been notified officially the ADA lawsuits can start. Anyone?

According to the City website, if it is a pedestrian hazard, it is considered an immediate emergency and should be reported at the emergency number: 510-615-5566

I just called the PWA Call Center 510-615-5566 and notified them of the issue, emailed them pictures and copied our Problem Solving Officer, hopefully someone will get to this sad situation.

This lot is owned by CALTRANS. I don't think they put trash on the sidewalk. If you saw the lessee of the lot do this or have proof it was the leases, contact CALTRANS and they will. Make the leases clean it up. Otherwise it is just litter on the sidewalk and the city will waste my tax collared cleaning up after the inconsiderate people who think it is the responsibility of those who pay taxes to pay for their inconsiderate acts.

It would be interesting to put cameras in chronic dumping spots to see who is doing it. If litter is being removed from the lot and dumped on the streets instead of being disposed of, I want to know. Likely, it's just people who don't care about their city dumping trash. It IS annoying, a blight on the city and a waste of taxpayers money that could be used for so many other things.
