To add to this issue, I let my neighbors know about this posting and one of them said they called RPD last weekend about one of these women who they observed urinating on Edenton at Seawell. One woman is caucasian and one woman is african american. The caucasian woman is the one we see being dropped off in different cars and she is also the the person who was urinating on Edenton last weekend. The other woman we have seen mostly stands outside of the house on Idlewild.

I understand that I should not reply to this comment b/c of its tone, but I am compelled point out a common myth about persons experiencing homelessness: most people who are homeless in Wake County are also from Wake County. This is true in most communities and in the last few years, we have been able to show this fact through data collection. As a member of this community, we work with RPD to help solve the social issues that affect us all. There are organizations and people throughout the community utilizing evidence-based practices to help solve social issues such as this one, and usually, there is no quick fix. There is a way to help people, help themselves effectively, and being angry and threatening is not a solution to this issue. Sending people to jail or out of the state into another state only makes the burden on the local economy, community, and taxpayers greater. Again, there are numerous evidence-based practices currently being employed by CoR, non-profits, and in partnership with private industry that are working to make our community improved, but it takes time and group effort. It is an old adage, but true - if you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem.
My neighbors and myself use this venue to communicate our concerns with CoR, and I hope this site does not become a sounding board with unproductive and threatening comments such as the one above. I will not respond again to an unproductive comment. They do not deserve time and effort past here. Thank you.

Seawell, thank you for replying to the previous poster. I thought that post was mean-spirited and, frankly, I'm surprised that SeeClickFix didn't weigh in on it.

Now if COR (RPD) would strictly enforce common law (& laws on the books)
to get rid of Homeless people the CIty of Raleigh would be a safer place

What RPD needs to do is to actively TRESPASS Homeless people from within the
city limits of the City of Raleigh the same as from individual properties

Perhaps if we complain en-mass to our Wake County representatives to get a ANTI-VAGRANCY LAW passed in Wake County as COR is ignoring the problem

It's the same thing over on East Hargett Street. People are buying the old homes giving them life again, but you cannot enjoy being outside because as soon as it gets dark, the drug dealer are right out in the street selling crack. Right out in the street. Cars drive up the guys walk up to the window and you can see money being passed. It's crazy that the City just doesn't station a car to sit on the street. At least we don't have prostitutes, so I'll count my blessings.

After 3 days of covert surveillance of the area RPD obtained and executed a search warrant for the property located at 109 Idlewild Avenue. Most of the activity in the area seemed to stem from this location. Controlled substances were confiscated and 3 people were arrested. The property owner responded and issued a trespass notice to several people found at that location who did not live there. Law enforcement efforts in this vicinity are ongoing. Donovan: I suggest you let RPD know of the concerns you have on East Hargett. If they are not told about it, RPD cannot respond appropriately. My neighbors and I were told by an officer to keep calling and let them know what is happening so that they can respond accordingly. As you can see in this case, communication is key.
