Description
This is more of a suggestion for MassDOT rather than Chelsea but I thought it would be a good idea to mention it at least. At the corner of Rt16 and Webster Ave, I would like to suggest updating this "No Turn On Red" sign to a "Turn on Red After Stop" sign. There are 2 reasons for this. The first being that at all times of the day, people will ignore the sign and stop at it before going through it. I will admit there are some people that don't bother stopping either.
The second reason is more important and the reason I think switching the signs is a good idea. Late at night, that particular intersection goes from a timed control to a Rt 16 Priority with vehicle sensor control on Webster and Garfield. What I mean is that late at night, in order for the green light to appear on Webster and Garfield, a vehicle needs to be on those sensors. Unfortunately, this particular turn has no sensor and I do recall a time where someone stayed at the light for 2 cycles before running the red light.
