Hallie is correct. The RR boxcars are behind the small apartment building at 110 Pearl St. SE. 30316. The corner of Field & Pearl.
The dumping has taken place every couple of months..
This is the second 311 report that I know of. I contacted Valencia Hudson, liaison to Natalyn Archibong, early Spring and bulk pickup arrived soon thereafter.
There’s a tale to tell on this mess. The alleged owner of the boxcars, and one supposes, the apartment building has:
—Listed the property For Sale at $81,000 - signs hung on the chain link fencing in 2014
--Held curb sales at this location periodically for the past 2-3 years. The items appear to have been stored in the boxcars. Old junk with a few, very few, pieces of vintage furniture, a foot pedal sewing machine (White or Singer), lamps, clothing, toys, etc
On MLK Day, 2018, the area was cleaned by a volunteer from the neighborhood. Some of the items were from a car broken into the previous Friday evening, and were returned to the rightful owner.
Fresh flowers have found their way into a few of the piles.
This trash pile does not appear to be from the boxcars. Perhaps junk from a recently vacated apartment in the 110 building? Such as the apartment-sized refrigerator, door intact, near the Herbies Curbies at Frield & Pearl
