Has anyone looked at the pond yet?

Still wondering if anyone has looked at the pond yet. Thank you.

Good morning - I understand that this pond is simply part of the drainage system for the larger neighborhood, meaning that the scum will simply exist there until washed away, but without rain, the scum persists. Is it possible to plant shrubbery/trees that will shield it from view? The sight of it right across from my house (and for others as well) is unpleasant and will likely lower property values for any homes with that view. Plus, the ducks, geese, and heron that we used to see are gone due to the scum. Are there any possible fixes for the scum itself or the view from our homes? Thank you.

I appreciate your time, but I don't agree with the decisions about this pond. We live across from it and all of our front windows face it. Years ago, our view of the pond was shielded by trees but, now that DPW has removed trees, pond scum will be our main view from the time that everyone (over)fertilizes their lawns and the runoff begins in late spring until it ceases in late October. Right now, we have a view of pristine water and plentiful waterfowl, but that will end about the time we get to sit outside on the front porch. Then it's really depressing. If this is truly a runoff pond designed to capture chemicals and nothing more, could you please re-plant around it so that our view is shielded? Thank you for listening.

Can we add beneficial bacteria to the pond? Whether it's intended for drainage or not, waterfowl is living near it and swimming in it all the time. We could do our part to keep it a liveable, viable body of water. Can someone please contact me so we could discuss this? I'd greatly appreciate it.

We understand that the LMHA owns the pond, so we'll take steps to mitigate the algae bloom.
