As far as the street vendor I would call the health department because someone can get very sick or worse. I would leave it to chance that the city sees your post.

Krishi, I am sorry but I think you are sadly mistaken. You seem to know nothing about the laws for food trucks. Since when are food truck vendors required to have a store front/established restaurant??? That's news to me, and I've done a lot of research into running a food truck in New Haven!
And who are these "confirmed sources" you are talking about? Who are these people who have supposedly "observed" this guy handling food without gloves etc?
I don't believe a word you are saying -- I think you have a personal grievance against this particular man/vendor, and I think your comments are BS.
And how do you know this vendor's name and all of these supposed details about how he runs and supplies his food truck? How do you know he prepares his food at his home? New Haven is pretty intense about making sure that food truck operators follow very strong rules about food prep.
And, c'mon -- who in the world doesn't even have a food cooler?
Finally, XYZ -- WHO ARE YOU??? You chime in on lots of different issues, but we have no idea who you are, though you give lots of opinions. Please, speak up!
Sincerely,
Ms. Skeptical

I am concern citizen. Who are you?

Hi XYZ -- I, like you, am a concerned citizen. As a homeowner as well as a resident, I pay a LOT of city taxes. I hope I don't constantly present myself as an omniscient keeper of all the city's contact info, but I do know a fair amount about New Haven's laws for street/truck vendors.
The person -- Krishi -- who wrote in about that particular vendor does seem to have a personal grievance. If I were that vendor (and I am not a lawyer, nor do I know that vendor), I would sue for libel. (Or is it slander? See? I told you I'm not a lawyer. :)
Wow, at this time this issue has already been viewed 89 times! That means the business of Saeed (the supposed vendor) is kaput. If I were Krishi (the unsourced accuser), I would be looking over my shoulder... If he had written this baloney about my business, my pals down in New Jersey would be on I-95 right now with their hammers! (ha ha ha, Feds, I'm only joking!)
keep cool and happy, XYZ.
Your friend and neighbor, "Neighbor." I'm on your side.

@Neighbor is the kind of neighbor I want to have a beer with!
I'll have to take a walk over to the carts today to check out the Halal one and report back, and I'm looking forward to spending my money there.

Thank you for your reply. I think we can agree it is best not to put your real name and phone number on a post.

@Andy O -- you're on. It's super-cool that you went to visit Saeed! The couscous sounds delicious. What does Saeed think about all this kerfuffle? (sp: kerfluffle?)
@XYZ -- I'd be terrified to put my name and contact info out there. Not everyone appreciates my particular brand of humor. And I'm not the only person in this town who has friends-with-hammers in NJ.

You never know how people may react nowadays. You must have heard of road rage, See Click Fix rage may be next.
