I am not homeless. If I chose to sit here all day, would you ask the police to have me removed, or are you just targeting homeless people? See the problem here?

Sad to say nothing will be done .Live in a car where you want free, sleep where you want , It all paid for buy the people who chose to work ! Moore square free sleeping /free food ! What a life!

What do you propose that the city does? If there are no laws being broken, the city doesn't have the authority to round up homeless people and send them off on a bus. If you want to go protest the homeless church, feel free, but asking the city to do it for you isn't going to get anything accomplished.

It was reported less than 24hrs ago. Quit closing issues because you're grouchy and at least give CoR a chance to say something.

It really disgusts me when I park my car and am on my way to have a martini after work with friends when I have to pass by this place with the smelly lowlife. This is is the sort of thing that makes people like me not want to come downtown. The City should build a place for people like that to go somewhere down in their community. Just the sight and smell of these people who sit on the benches all day are enough to make me lose my appetite.

can we all be civilized about this? I think we should provide a wide open space for people who have nowhere to go all day. Include benches and vans with people living in them. Make it out of town on the busline so our city can thrive and not be a scary place to be. I am accosted when I walk by Moore Square and can't see why the city won't address this.

I understand the frustration here, but remember: we're all here because we care about improvement which is a common goal.

I will refer this to RPD Downtown District and will post an update once they have had a chance to respond.

SInce these benches are located outside of the Moore Square Transit Mall they are regulated as any other bench the City maintains and the loitering provisions are not applicable. RPD will not take any action unless the persons using bench is violating the law.

It isn't illegal to sit on the bench all day long if you want to. They aren't breaking any laws. Instead of trying to hide homeless people pay for a real social net.

Then remove the benches

Constantly reopening this is not going to get the benches removed.
