Description
I've tried to hold my peace on this one and let the construction work play out, but today put me over the top. This intersection frequently delivers E/W green times that are too short during the AM peak. Today, even with eastbound queues 1/4 to 1/2 mile long, I watched the signal gap out after only a 25 second eastbound green phase (see attached image). I know detection has to be difficult with the construction work, but I notice the E/W phases normally get forced off after 45 or 60 seconds during the noon hour and the PM peak. If we can avoid premature gap outs during other hours of the day, I have to think we can get the AM hour to work.
