The low hanging limbs are from a private property tree are to be maintained by the property owner as stated in City Ordinance Section 66-232. – Trees Overhanging Streets. A notice to maintain (trim) the trees has been mailed to the property owner on file. A follow-up inspection will occur no later than June 27.

Upon inspection by city staff, it was noted that sufficient vision clearance is present from trees/bushes to the road, as well as at the public sidewalk areas. Trees/bushes on private property are not regulated by city ordinance, therefore, the city is unable to prune this tree or direct the property owner to prune the tree for better visibility of the Portage Landings complex sign.
