They haven't yet been fixed. Utility guy said it is a private driveway, though I disagree, Besides serving a public park, there are City of Bellevue criteria used in determining whether a driveway is private or not, and none of the criteria are met. How do I escalate this? Who is the authority that I need to talk to? Thanks
Still not fixed. Trees from the park are coming up under the driveway, the road is the only access to the park, so many City maintenance trucks use it to tend the park...Who is responsible for the upkeep of NE 29th Place? I haven't seen anything recorded in our title, and I'm pretty sure none of the neighbors are responsible for the upkeep of the road. What's the deal. We just want the road fixed please.
Skidee, The City of Bellevue granted an easement across Parks Property that allowed for the construction of this access road/driveway to provide egress to Bellevue Way for the homes located on the west side of the property. This easement stipulates that the City would not be responsible for the maintenance or replacement of this access road. However, since Parks uses this roadway intermittently to access the site, and in an effort to be a good neighbor, we will have our Parks crew patch the pot holes. This work should take place soon as weather permits. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at ribailey@bellevuewa.gov. Thank you. -Rick Bailey
Thank you Rick. We've owned our house for 8 years, and I've reviewed our title, and I see nothing related to an easement agreement with the City. I'm surprised my title company didn't find the easement. Do you have a record or identification number for the easement? I wouldn't mind having a copy!
Regardless, thank you for being a "good neighbor". And I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.
