Please address as this issue as it has been reported several times. What do community members of Stevens Square have to do to get support from our community leaders, city employees/ officials and police. The debris, tents and the encampment itself is a safety risk and our neighbors do not feel safe walking home. Please address and resolve. Thank you.

Again why is this encampment there? You all know that this is not okay. This is not safe. And it needs to be dealt with. I don't care if you have moved people on one time. It needs to end. We will keep recording until this is dealt with.

Why has this not yet been responded to????

This continues to be a problem. Called 311 again earlier today along with several other resources and apparently they are camped on the crotch of several districts, all of whom keep passing the buck and none of whom will take action because it is the ‘other’ district’s issue. Meanwhile, they remain, and there has been a massive uptick in graffiti, missing bikes, etc. City refuses action. Yay Minneapolis. Don’t bother contacting Abdi Warsame who ‘represents’ Stevens Square. He will NEVER be bothered to cross 35 to the one stray edge of his district.

Also, this issue is incorrectly located on the map. It should be 16th St. and 3rd Ave S. It is on the NORTHWEST corner of the Sharon Sayles Belton bridge surrounding the “basket” sculpture. Directly across 16th from the Convention Center.

Has been reported to all! Also Lisa Goodman and Abdi Warsami. No response from Warsami. Goodman simply acknowledged and said city is working with social services and police...yet they are still there and growing.

I spoke to Terry at 311, she advised that the city has contacted St Stevens Outreach to help relocate those who need shelter but they have yet to respond. After that they can clear the site. She advised us to contact the Loring Park Area Inspector Marcy Van Hazinga (spelling?) at 612-437-3297, since there are obvious violations of city ordinances. I left her a message today, 6/13 @ 1:50 pm but would encourage all to contact her as well.

I still don't understand why we are all working so much harder than the city, the city council, and the police. St. Stephens is wonderful but they're a Social Service Agency they are not law enforcement and to say the reason those people are still there is because St Stephens has not responded feels just wrong.

Agreed Maureen. We just need to be persistent and keep calling. That is the only way they will respond. Call 311 and 911, daily Team. Power in numbers, power of persistence. Together, we can do this.

This is still an issue. Keep calling 311!

Of course they're still there. They have been removed a couple of times and immediately come back. Yesterday evening it appeared things had been cleared and there were just a few people sitting there but as I drove across the bridge home I saw people coming with their bags and bikes. They were just heading back.

This problem continues and all the bikes and tents are back.
