Gentrification will sort this thing out..cops dont like to deal with this sticky situation .soon these mutts will not be able to afford the rent and will move out.

Still ongoing...seems the city is allowing it to keep the activity concentrated in Greenville to keep it away from downtown. Open sales, baggies and vial caps litter the sidewalk. Sad that kids have to play among it...

Please attend the monthly South District Police Captain's meeting and make the complaint directly to the Captain. He usually is responsive and tackles problems in his district. Call the police and ask when & where the monthly Captain's meeting is.

I'm with you Queen. I see the same all the time. I do not see "continuos" or better efforts to rehabilitite our neighborhood. It's depressing seing people doing lines to buy very openly. Everybody knows it.
And everybody just have to ignore, because there is not real interest in help this area.

JC South Police District Captain's meeting is every 1st Wednesday of the month (except July & August) at 7 pm at St. Paul's Convent at 20 Greenville Ave. Free parking across the street and a relatively safe area to go to. Call 201-547-5456 South District & ask for Community Relations officer for further info. Capt. Veltre is the chief of the South District and he usually attends and listens and responds to residents complaints. Please be specific (complete details if possible) about your complaints. Please attend regularly so you can get updates and follow up with the Captain if you are not satisfied with the Police response. Better if your other neighbors go to the meeting & complain.

We have this issue more than two years and nothing has been done. Everyday the crime just increases. I see children on bikes carrying backpags full of drugs. They stop and sell free on the streets. During the daylight ( no comments about night time). Corners are all full of drug traffic.
Unfortunately, Greeville does not have hope from the Police South District. They just respond "keep calling" "keep comming" so, what do we have to wait?
This is all over, Stegman, Van Nostrand, Armstrong, Fulton, Stevens, all streets is the same.
It's like a big Mall of drugs and addiction.

Surprised a documentary about rampant drug use / buying / selling right out in the open on city streets has not been done at this point. The drug abuse situation in Jersey City is horrific enough, but the fact that the police department and city officials ignore the issue and allow the crime from it to flourish, truly boggles the mind. It's shocking !!!

Over the wekend of May 12-2021, Police was on Van Nostrand Avenue. I labeled this street as "Street Mall for drug dealers and clients". It was great to see when police called everyody to go back to their houses, no violence, everybody understood, and everything went fine.
Hopefully, this actions keep being done. if not the drug business is just growing with no good news or interest in resolving the problem. Here the sector is growing poor. Many stores are unable to be rent because the dangerous zone, and the OPEN drug business on the streets. Actual stores suffer, because the dealers just get into their locals to do their business. It's horrific!!!
