  The police came by yesterday, and did nothing. They say the word from City Hall is to leave them be unless they are committing seriously felonies.

  I'm pretty sure this issue was already reported yesterday and was superseded by a complaint still earlier. Residents are properly concerned by a homeless encampment directly across the street and, assuming that what the officers said actually represents City policy, I'd hope that they would would reconsider.

  town_resident, yeah the mayor has been protecting criminals in the city and prioritizing criminals, homeless and illegal immigrants over law-abiding and taxpaying residents. This is why we need to drain the swamp in Oakland's city government. The corruption in Oakland is completely out of control. We need to fire everyone in city hall and replace them with competent and honest civil servants, not these corrupt limousine liberals who gobble up all our tax dollars and give them away to miscreants ruining Oakland
