I'm told by a neighbor that the address where these dogs live is 529 San Pablo NE, and that they've been picked up by Animal Control in the past for attacking people but released to the owners. Why are dangerous dogs being left with their owners?????

These dogs are owned by the residents of 529 San Pablo NE. who are irresponsible and have no financial means to account for these dogs, much less their actions. I called 311 at 8:11 AM, Wednesday, June 20 after these three dogs attempted to attack me on my way to my car in front of my house. No one from Animal Welfare showed that day. Others in the neighborhood have called to report the same for months. The Animal Welfare Dept. now shares liability for the actions of these dogs.
Since you were bitten, I, and others that I have spoken to, will be happy to testify in District Court against Animal Welfare’s continued malfeasance in this matter. Have your attorney contact me. Charlie.

Meanwhile, I have been told that these dogs have been reported to Animal Control for similar dangerous behavior OVER and OVER by neighbors, and NOTHING has been done!

I called 311 regarding these dogs as recent as June 20 with no response from Animal Control.

So what has happened? Has the dog been picked up? I need to know whether I need to start rabies shots.

I left a message with someone from Animal Welfare who works in the field yesterday morning, as I was told to do. I waited ALL DAY and no one bothered to call back. Why does the city not care that a pack of dogs is attacking citizens? What if it's a small child next?

This morning I went to the east side Animal Welfare facility, since I never received a call back yesterday and calling didn't seem useful. I had to really push and insist to get the information I needed, but one of the lieutenants then researched the dog and found that it had a current rabies vaccination. So I was saved from having to get shots. I filled out extra paperwork, and the lieutenant explained what the process is. He spent a lot of time with me and was very kind.

It seems that the reason I didn't get a call back yesterday is that messages go to their desk phones, not their cell phones, and since they are out in the field, they don't get the messages in a timely fashion. This seems astonishingly inefficient.

I just want the people-- and dogs and cats, who could be attacked as well-- in the neighborhood to be safe.

Animal Control will not be responsive until they are compelled to do so by District Court.
