Description

More and more, dog owners are allowing their pets to be off-leash. Recently, there was a vicious attack on a dog -- as explained in the NextDoor post below. We need visible signs in the park and some police or animal control presence to fine dog owners who are not abiding by the rules, which exist for very good reasons.

Hi All, just an update in case you didn't see it. My dog was viciously attacked by 2 lab mixes (one brown and one black) that were off leash Saturday early evening at Fallon Park. The dogs were playing in stream and saw me and my dog walking down Oxford and ran after us and attacked him. He is an 11 year old Labradoodle, Francis, and was very wounded. He has 3 drains put in him and is on lots of meds. Prognosis is still unknown long term but he is doing as well as can be expected. Please do not let your dogs off leash in Fallon Park and please call Animal Control if you see dogs off leash at 919-996-1449. Our local officer was wonderful to work with, Tracey Alford. He actually met me at the vets on Vick to pick up Francis today. thank for helping keep Fallon Park safe,
