Description
On Saturday I saw a lady twist her ankle and fall down as she was trying to cross Elm St. An officer who was stopped at the light in a patrol car and I (on my bicycle) sat and stared as a more honorable man rushed over to help the lady to her feet.
The culprit in the fall was a pothole-like depression in the pavement toward the south end of the crosswalk on the west side of the intersection. My lack of response was inexplicable and inexcusable.
The pavement depression can be filled in with asphalt. I don't know what can be done about mine and the officer's unwillingness to abandon our vehicles and help the lady who fell down, though.

path of cars in the right-hand lane of elm st. This has led to its trough shape. I will supply a photo by Thursday afternoon if I don't forget.
