There is a similar problem city wide - as a pedestrian, cyclist, public transit user and Uber user I would like to see public discussion on how to address the needs of all involved. Current right of way priority doesn’t seem to be widely understood and possible future changes need more than just focus group consultation.

While I agree with you Pedestrian, there is a present need and easy solution at this particular location. Public discussion of citywide need is wonderful, however it shouldn't hold up solving a situational problem that has been perpetuated by the emergence of Uber and compounded by the more recent installation of protected bike lanes. Until these bike lanes were so hastily installed without public discourse, ride shares and rides for hire could safely pull over to the curb without causing the chaos that is now transpiring--frequently charter coaches parked here with little to no impact on bikes, pedestrians or motor vehicles. A little planning goes a long way and there are certainly enough locations for safe ride-share loading at H.L.S. that wouldn't impede human safety and/or traffic movement.

How can one report illegal parking activity when stuck in a line of blocked traffic because Ubers are tying up the driving lane? KH, did you not read the complaint? Ubers stay for 2 or 3 minutes each. How can we expect a Traffic Control Officer to respond in this amount of time when it took 12 days to respond to this request?

Councillor Simmonds has a similar concern on this week's City Council agenda about this same issue in the neighborhood she represents. Maybe this specific request could be sent to Community Development since Traffic and Parking is non-responsive.

The problem has escalated. Yesterday afternoon, around 4:15, there were two yellow school busses from South Shore communities parked in this area totally blocking the bike lanes. Any bikes heading toward porter would have had to swerve into the car lane, to pass the two busses.
