There is a steel drainage grate, or pair of them right next to each other. On the side of the grate that faces to the middle of the road, a 1 foot section of asphalt is missing and this creates a very sharp pothole with the steel grate as one edge and other side of the pothole as a sharp edge. this can create a very destructive pothole.
