I understand the pd is down staff but instead of complaining about it why does this person not step up and call them or something. it rate in your front yard too. why dont you step up and do their job if you really think ya can do it any better this has been a fight in that area for many years.

Just Wondering: Perhaps if you called them to report this they might just come down and take care of it. Unless, of course, you are going to personally pay to station a police officer out front -- because the Mayor has made it perfectly clear that he refuses to hire another police officer despite the obvious need for more.

It might help if the business/apartment owners downtown would stop renting to the type of people that they do, the problems would go away. Clean up the apartments, rent to decent people and people will come downtown again.

i agree that some of the things that happen in this area need to be dealt with.... but not everyone living in this area is like that.... I've personally called the police many times because of open public fighting..... as for why downtown looks like it does perhaps talk to some of the landlords who dont fix anything ever...... i've lived on madison street for over 7 years and the only repairs done to my apartment i have pretty much done myself.... maybe if some of these buildings owners stopped lining their pockets and started investing back in the buildings it would look a lot better..... 7 years... no paint.... no carpet.... faulty heat..... just because your a lower income household doesn't mean you want to live like an animal.

It is a shame that people can walk down the street during a parade with an open beer and Oneida PD does nothing about it. What the heck do we pay them for?

It might help if the city wasn't cutting back the police force. Just a thought.
