Description
New traffic flow ,going north on n maple people do not know it has moved to one lane, the merge lane is super short and people drive in the bike lane til they can merge. This has caused a hazard for the homeowners turning right onto carbeck. Pleease review and consider better signage or change n maple in front of vets park to 3 lane, right turn ,straight and left turn thankyou

This site is to report things to the city not for us to debate.

@CityOfAnnArbor (not BabsMcPhee, whose opinion doesn't interest me): I just received an email from the city asking for input on a similar project on N. Seventh. I live on Carbeck and I never received such a message for N. Maple Rd. Just wondering why this is.
Here is the message: "N. Seventh Street Bicycle Improvements Jul 27, 2018 02:09 pm | The City of Ann Arbor
Please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey and share your input regarding the addition of bicycle lanes and potential removal of on-street parking along N. Seventh Street (from Huron to Miller). Draft concepts have been prepared, which range in impact to existing parking and availability of dedicated bicycle space. We're looking for community input to help identify the preferred concept.
The deadline for online feedback is August 10 at 9:00 a.m. Additional project information is available at a2gov.org/seventh."

I am not sure why the city of Ann Arbor continues to sacrifice reinforced roadbed payment that was designed to support the weight of vehicles, and converting this road way into bicycle lanes.
First of all, the climate in Ann Arbor does not promote bicycle use to the level that would justify the expense of converting reinforced roadways designed for cars trucks and buses to bicycle lights. Ann Arbor has a significant lead for north/south and east/west arteries - Most of the city planners seem to be converting major arteries into scenic drives and bicycle paths.
The city needs to reevaluate this plan and the taxpayers need to speak up. Many people drive through the city not with in the city and need to get from east to west and north to south in an efficient and safe manner.
If we are going to become a city of scenic drives and bicycle paths most of the city planners seem to be converting major arteries into scenic drives and bicycle paths.

If we are going to become a city of scenic drives and bicycle paths, Then I think we need more discussion.
