I twisted my ankle pushing a stroller through this dangerous stretch, and almost fell into oncoming traffic. Thankfully the truck swerved in time. This is an extremely dangerous section of the road for pedestrians and a sidewalk would be major improvement for our neighborhood.

This has long been a potential hazard for walkers to/from OLA, St. Martin's Episcopal School & Church, not to mention joggers and walkers.

We have been completing an inventory of our sidewalks and we hope to repair these as soon as we can. We will add them to the list of needed repairs and will update you as to when they are scheduled for repair.

Pleas put on the top of the priority list of dangerous situations that need to be fixed.

This project should be put at the top of the priority list. We have three schools in this area and this is a very dangerous situation. You would have to look pretty hard to find another sidewalk project that is as needed as this. Let's work together to have a safe, livable and walkable community. This is why many people supported and voted for a new city. DeKalb County avoided this project for years. Let's get this done.

I would agree that this is a very dangerous situation especially considering how drivers speed on this stretch of Ashford Dunwoody.

It shouldn’t be about how many votes an issue has, if it is a legitimate issue, especially one of public safety, it should be addressed in a timely manner. Once it is acknowledged a completion schedule should be announced. That is the way responsible government operates.

Mayor Max, it might be a better long-term contribution to your city's health and welfare to complete the sidewalk than to sponsor the fat-filled food fair that clogs both citizens' arteries and the arterial Ashford-Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry at rush hour every Wednesday. Fix the sidewalk and forget the frivolous fat-fair.

Cutting to the chase, live up to your basic promises for Brookhaven and hone them to perfection. Then you can bask in the glory of your non-essential additions to the city. When you do think you are being responsive to citizen needs, consider their ramifications. On Wednesdays, traffic on Ashford-Dunwoody extra specially S-U-X.

The board of Cambridge Park met with the City Engineer in November to discuss our options of how the sidewalk could be built, along the roadway or radiating out more through the woods as a separate bridge. It was explained to us the issue is the creek, the culvert, and the environmental codes needed to be complied with to build over the creek. Additionally the road is very narrow there. As a board we were able to express our wishes for how the sidewalk would be positioned coming into our neighborhood (we all thought along the roadway was best) and our requests for lighting and the type of curb we wanted. We were told this was issue number one for the city of Brookhaven and they are working on getting the proper permitting and drawings approved for this to move forward as quickly as possible. If I hear more I will post it.

We have logged this location for sidewalk repair. Updates from the City of Brookhaven will be posted accordingly.
