Well........... I went outside yesterday, 8/13/18 & saw that the issue at the storm drain had been repaired with asphalt (hot patch) & it looks great. Thank you town of Hamden Public Works. But........ as noted in my description of issues, the pot hole right next to the sewer issue was not addressed.....
All you had to do was turn around & put a couple of shovel fulls of asphalt in it and it would have been done !!!!!!!!!!! Really Hamden P.W., you don't train your people to be pro active???? Both issues were listed here, you fixed one & not the other?????? It required the same materials to repair both & yet only one was repaired. I don't get it. The pot hole is pretty deep & is on a curve & down hill. I hear so many cars coming down that way & hear them "bottom out". Would it have been too difficult to turn around & fill it? Really, really disappointed with the P.W.

As you can see the pot hole was never fixed. The hole has been filling up with ground water & now that the weather has changed & things are freezing the street has been freezing and a small glacier has formed right in front of my driveway & let me tell you as this gets worse it is extremely dangerous to enter or exit my own driveway. This is not the first year that the hole was not repaired & not the first time I have had ice form directly in front of my driveway. In the past years the ice has formed to a 2-3 inch thick "GLACIER" and stretches from directly in front of my driveway & rolls down the street for 3-4 car lengths. It is "EXTREMELY DANGEROUS" for ALL motor vehicle operators & for personal property if someone looses control of their car. Granted, at this day, Dec. 6 the ice is not thick but as you can read this is not my first year experiencing this issue & I am here to tell you, It's only going to get WORSE. Please repair this problem.............

OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! within 3 hours, it has been repaired. A great big THANK YOU to the town. But that does not explain why it took over 5 months to repair. That being said, FAIR WARNING.... The patch will inevitably get water in it &freeze then thaw & repeat. With the plowing & the traveling the patch will break down. The only real way to repair it is to dig it & find the water & remedy the water table.
