  If we can trim the tree and repair the sidewalk, that would be vastly preferable to losing another tree!

  My house is located within sight of this tree. I strongly object to removing it. I am alarmed to see removal even proposed. The tree is healthy, about ten years old and entering the prime of its life. It is located on the side of Avon St with no power lines so it will likely be well-formed and good looking and easy to prune all its life. It is a standard, normal tree not "overgrowth" or a "rogue tree" as suggested in the opening post. It needs only standard maintenance -- minor pruning of the lower branches to keep them out of people's faces and a redo of one heaved sidewalk panel such as the DPW does by the hundreds every year.

  To be clear -- this tree is between 118 Avon and 120 Avon (the email I got from See-Click-Fix said 110a Avon in the preview but 118 Avon when I opened the web page itself using the "more" link.

  If you are so concerned about the tree, maybe you should have been concerned about the uplifting of the sidewalk where people have been tripping and how it has been falling apart. It has already been fixed once and obviously the roots are growing underneath. Your camera's should have caught that!
