I'd note, too, that driving on Fannin and Webster are equally hazardous with people wandering and falling into the street.

The reason for the crime around that area, I lived there for about 8 years and still work there, is KUSH.

Lots of dealers, most are now young attractive black females.They ride bicycles and some set up shop on the corners.When driving around there, watch pedestrians. Some do fall into the street. Call 911 and tell them there is a person that fell down in the middle of the street. May take a few minutes to arrive, but HPD will make sure they do not get run over.

Also there are fights over who gets which corner to sell on. Lots of knifing and shootings. I had a man who was beating up a woman on the hood of my truck pull a knife and try to stab me. I made the mistake of telling him to take the issue elsewhere. Get you CHL, avoid the place at night, and drive slowly and cautiously at all hours.

Totally agree with Alexander. They will wander around in the middle of the street, dare you to hit them, aggressively approach cars stopped at the light, etc. It is very dangerous, especially for women driving alone or with small children.

All, I see this every day as well. I drive the district daily on a variety of issues. I call HPD, P7, and SEAL for multiple and similar issues with regards to the homeless in the area. Please contact the law enforcement authorities. Feel free to call me for any other relating issues. Thanks
