Description
Good morning,
A few years ago you helped the Express bus riders regarding the traffic agents at the tunnel causing delays by stopping traffic coming around the loop at West Street to allow the BPU traffic to get through. They've been doing the exact same thing. They hold us up for 3 or 4 lights at a time, sometimes longer, and wave the BPU traffic through. This backs up West Street. Battery Place and Broadway all the way up past Rector Street. It takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes to get into the tunnel from the bull. We're all complaining to each other, including my friends who take the Bklyn express buses, but you helped us last time and I know you can again. If you ask anybody who takes the bus at that time at night, I'm sure you'll hear horror stories. Thank you for everything you do for us. God bless you and have a great day.

This the Response from the MTA. This is a complaint regarding the traffic agents and congestion on West Street at entrance to the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. While Transit has no jurisdiction over the traffic agents or traffic enforcement , this will be shared with the bus division. The bus division has been meeting with NYPD and NYCDOT to determine what mitigation can be made to ease traffic congestion in downtown Manhattan , including approaches to the tunnel.
