When we see this type of behavior is it best to email our Ward Councilor? Councilor Courchesne seems to be very proactive and that is refreshing to see, tip of the cap to you sir. Please advise.
Good morning sir, truthfully the first call should be to the appropriate department, ie: building, health, DPW etc. That will get the wheels moving on the issue faster. If nothing happens we then can step in to see what's going on. More often than not we get the first call, and that's certainly ok. I prefer emails as I work third shift and can reply at hours you wouldn't want me calling back. I also get working on things much sooner than I can call back. Just an FYI, councilors cannot make any city employee do anything, that would be the mayor's authority. We can however be the squeaky wheel. I personally drive through the ward to try and stay ahead of the issues so my constituents don't have too. But it's definitely team work. I thank you for your kind words. Have a great day.
