Once again we the taxpayers are faced with a situation that the COV will not address. The stretch of couch street from the old Baldos restaurant to B&G tire has been turned into a garbage dump of filth and homelessness. These sights have been reported in the past and nothing has been done about it! What good is this sight if nothing is addressed! I realize there is an ongoing problem with these sights, but the city needs to get tough and start cleaning up this town, its getting pathetic!!!!!!!!!
One day I drove past Baldo’s and saw a huge encampment mess all over the train tracks and bushes next to tracks. Trash, bikes and guy sitting on tracks under umbrella. The whole area is a mess. It’s extremely dangerous and inappropriate to camp ON train tracks. I called Authorities to report, they said the tracks were no longer active and didn’t seem concerned.
This whole area of town needs to be cleaned out and maintained going forward.
Those particular tracks are owned by the city, I believe they grounds crew has been assigned to this issue although I have not checked up on it yet. From this post it appears nothing has happened again. I walked down to code enforcement offices to specifically ask about who the owner of these tracks is - and it was agreed upon that it is the city of Vallejo.
Thank you for reporting! Code Enforcement Officer Sidie has now been assigned to inspect the possible violation(s). You may visit eTRAKiT, our online tracking system, to view current case information for the Code Violations online at http://web.ci.vallejo.ca.us/eTRAKiT3/ (please allow several business days for the information to upload). SeeClickFix is one of the many tools available to the citizens of Vallejo to report non-emergency issues. We “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is not "Closed" per se; it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know. Thank you for using SeeClickFix!
Who’s property will this eTRAKiT case be attached to? In an effort to follow up on issues like this one it would help to know the case number when it is available. Otherwise what I’m getting from this post is that it’s now not on city property but private property. Couldn’t tell you if that’s true or not, but I seriously doubt that it’s private property owned by Baldo’s or the auto shop.
