That busted car has been out there, unmoved, for about 3 weeks.

Acknowledging the issue is not the same thing as addressing it.

After the 11% tax increase sinks in and Fountain street turns into an impassable junkyard we can turn it into a modern day Thunderdome and develop a revenue stream based on deathmatches!

Parking Enforcement Officer investigated this issue and found no vehicles in violation of city ordinance..

Section 29-35, the last bullet, "l":
"(l) In any space for more than seventy-two (72) consecutive hours, provided that nothing in this subsection (l) shall be so construed as to apply to those spaces posted as residential parking spaces in a residential parking zone created pursuant to section 29-55 of this Code of General Ordinances."

The car (actually, cars, as there's two of them that are busted) have been there for three weeks.

The City keeps claiming that there's a "revenue problem" and for once I'm inclined to say they are right: they refuse to levy fines on lawbreakers which would actually generate revenue for the city.

Car was hit at night. Owner needs to call a tow truck. Car now on violation of 72 hour law.

I'm really curious as to why the content of my post was blocked. I merely cited the City of New Haven ordinance that outlines and defines which ordinance this vehicle owner is breaking.

City ordinances are unenforceable as there is no one to enforce them. Its a free for all, do what you want. I have keep reposting for months on end to no avail. My ward 30 Alder told me to take care of them myself if no one was responding

i post ordinances and yes they take them down...calling them out on their inability run this city is an embarrassment, as it should be. Public Space violations are the worst. I actually got an email that said "it was taken care of" stop contacting me. The Mayor's office refuses to take an appointment. Friends of friends...see how this works.

Hi Andy, we dispatched parking enforcement personnel to investigate this issue at the time of post and they reported finding nothing. We will send staff again, but would it be possible to verify the location and possibly include a photo, and/or license plate number of the vehicle? Thank you for your assistance.

Today there was again no sign of a vehicle matching this description. If this is an ongoing concern, please create a new issue with a verified location, photos, and license plate number. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Apparently the original poster had the incorrect address- though they did specify "westbound side of Fountain". So,. from a very literal sense, yes, the the TTP employee went to the exact specified location and found nothing. However if they looked across the street- and yes, one block further west- they would save seen the vehicle. The cars are abandoned on the odd side (westbound/north side of Fountain) between Davis and Anthony. I'll see about getting the exact address when I'm walking my dog this evening.
