Description
At certain times of day it's impossible to cross South Border rd, no one stops. Very dangerous crossing. A crosswalk would improve safety crossing to and from the Fells either at this location or at Bellvue Pond parking area.

Thank you for reporting this issue to the City of Medford. Unfortunately, since this road is not owned by the City of Medford, we need to refer you to Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). You may contact DCR directly at 617-626-1250. If this is an emergency, please call 911.
This does not mean that the issue is not important to the City of Medford. The Medford Traffic Commission does into have purview over State owned roadways. The City has made a previous request to DCR re this subject.

The City of Medford has advocated for funding from the State to add ramps and a crossing on South Border Road at Governors Ave. The idea being that DCR would use the funding to implement a safe, accessible crossing here. So, the issue is acknowledged and being worked on, in terms of funding and interagency cooperation/collaboration.
Thanks again for commenting on this very important issue.
