Description
we have had so many accidents on valley st--a high traffic st. due to SCU and those circumventing Whalley Ave. last summer we had 3 bloody accidents right in front of our house (within a month or two). people speed like crazy here, on their cell phones, going 50 mph!! we are lucky if we get out of our driveway alive--our neighbors all complain about this too. it is far too dangerous, and we have children here. WE NEED SPEED BUMPS TO HELP the situation PLEASE!! thank you!! thank you!!

Let's see what happens first by creating an issue here.
A) Speed Bumps or
B) the birth of your first grandchild.
We'll be watching.

Valley Street has needed improvements for a long time. The traffic situation is unacceptable. Speeding traffic is not only dangerous, it amounts to theft of people's public space because it makes their property and space (yards and front of their homes) less usable.
Have you called your Alderperson to ask for an update? There is no reason why speeds should be more than 20 miles per hour on this road, and there are easy ways to bring them down to that.
Will the city's new complete streets policy address this? There's a hearing at the Board of Aldermen this week.
