The City maintains six intersections for FDOT on Tyrone Blvd., 5th Ave. N, 9th Ave. N, 22nd Ave. N, 66th St., 68th St., and 38th Ave. N. FDOT recently (within the past two years) re-timed 66th Street from Pasadena Ave. to 38th Ave. N. They re-timed Tyrone & 22AN, 66st & Tyrone, and 68st & Tyrone as part of that project also. This was due to their close proximity to the 66th Street intersections and the need to coordinate the two corridors. Those intersections run four different coordination patterns throughout each weekday and one pattern on the weekend depending on traffic volume. Cycle lengths vary from 150 seconds to 170 seconds. These three intersections are coordinated mainly for northbound traffic flow; the southbound flow is dependent on mall traffic. The intersections at Tyrone Blvd./5th Ave. N & 9th Ave. N were not re-timed and their cycle length is 120 seconds from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. They cannot be coordinated with the three aforementioned intersections. Neither FDOT nor the City has seen a reason to increase their cycle lengths at this time. Tyrone & 5th Ave. N is coordinated with 58th St. & 5th Ave. N to move southbound to eastbound traffic on 5th Ave. N. Tyrone a& 9th Ave. N is coordinated with 58th St & 9th Ave. N to move traffic westbound. For efficiency, Tyrone Blvd & 38AN runs non-coordinated all the time. This is because of its distance from the other intersections on Tyrone Blvd. If there is a particular time of day you wish me to review, I would be happy to take a closer look. I will close this SCF next week.
So if I understand your email. Intersections on either side of 66th St on Tyrone Blvd should be coordinated (synchronized)?? So I should not experience going in either direction on Tyrone getting stopped at signals. That is the way it used to be, but I haven't experienced it much lately. And isn't 38AN very close to Park Street??
The three intersections I mentioned above, Tyrone/22AN, 66st/Tyrone, 68st/Tyrone are coordinated as described. That means no stops or stops are minimal at worse. I have experienced relatively good coordination when I have driven them. As I stated before, if there is a particular time of day you are experiencing a problem; we will look closer at it. Tyrone & 38AN is the City's maintenance responsibility; Tyrone & Park St. is the County's responsibility.

They run non-coordinated between 8:30 pm to 6:30 am. They a run a 150 second coordination pattern from 6:30 am to 10:30 am, another 150 second coordination pattern from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, a 170 second coordination pattern from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and a 150 second coordination pattern from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. In addition, they run a 160 second coordination pattern on Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm on Sunday. At all other times on the weekend they run non-coordinated These patterns and times of day were picked by FDOT based on their study of traffic volumes on this corridor. If you can specify the time of evening, we may be able to make adjustments after contacting FDOT.
