Please take some time to care for our trees! The pitiful pitchy, stick-y trees in front of my house still need pruning -- especially before the next street sweepers and, heaven help us, plows are needed to come close to the curb. I've done what I can, but haven't either the right equipment or even a ladder to do the job appropriately!
Oh, and my trees are getting that scabby stuff on branches, too. Though I think the leaves are still ok.

There are maples on Forrester that have been having rot/fungus for the last two Fall seasons as well.

• The trees that line this section of Essex St. and Flint St. are Bradford Pears. They are in the Rose family and have problems with fungus on the leaves just like roses do. The leaf spot is called Fabraea and is spread by rain and wind. The fungus only infects other pears, so you will notice none of the other trees (different species) in the area are being affected. When the infection is severe, the tree(s) will either produce a second leaf or they will shut down for the year. Without spraying pesticides, these trees will need to be monitored to see if they fight off this infection.
