There is an ongoing problem with litter in the area. If you stand on the corner of Beechwood and Howard you will see that not only are the catch basin’s filled with litter but it is all over the streets and private property as well

Anything being done for this? Has it even been looked into yet?

Nothing has been done. And this is been going on for quite some time.

We need to keep this issue active (by commenting) so it is likely to get more eyes on it, and hopefully at least get an acknowledgment .

So what is the hold up? Is there someone else to whom we should be directing our concern?

The area has become considerably more litters since this initial reporting.

Maybe if people initiate new reports re blight, it will be harder to ignore

It’s only a matter of time before the streets flood as a result of the sewers being clogged with litter. This attracts vermin. I have seen rats and I know there are mice in the area buildings. When people see a lot of litter around they feel very comfortable adding to it. The litter includes food, soiled diapers and drug paraphernalia. There is an elementary school a short block away.

I live on Carleton Ave the storm drains also have issues I have reported blight and other illegal housing related activity but the city wont do anything the only thing they did was clean up the blighted 95 carleton ave house with all sorts of vermin running around, garage is falling down even the front pourch on this house is caving in and people are living in it, BPT has really went down the drain, not the storm drain bcuz they are all clogged, illegal construct runs ramped on my street,

I live in the east side and once a week, or before a storm, I go out and clean the storm drains before it gets washed into them. I know I pay taxes but if they won't do it then I step up and do my part to keep my neighborhood and rivers clean. I use 311 a lot and most issues get taken care of.

All over the city. I bet these guys can't keep up. It is an never ending battle. Maybe if we had responsible citizens who want a nice clean city, this wouldn't be an issue.

Maybe a neighborhood cleanup event! Get people involved. doesn't hurt to chip in!

I have seen rats running around because there is food and garbage left in the streets. Patrons of the Ayalas bar leave crap all over the place and dump trash into the catch basin’s. Despite putting signs for take out only, They have remained open during the pandemic.

Obsessed, in a bad way with the trash in this city. It is disgraceful that "people" throw out trash on our streets.
