Just up 34th St N. on the other side of street, the city permitted WaWa to open up a cul de
sac & route traffic through the surrounding neighborhood, combined with Kristinas restaurant resulted in homeless persons living around the Hartford Retention Pond (the hookers have been here for 30 yrs.) & drug addicts, & crazy people running through what was a peaceful, place to live. Due to complaints by residents SPPD addressed the issue with routine checks & responded to complaints.The homeless & everyone else (non-residents) were asked for ID, & were searched; body and property & checked for outstanding warrants. Result; no more homeless frequenting the area. Keep calling.

Call the SPPD non-emergency number EVERY time you witness a legitimate violation of a statute. Have you contacted your Community Service Officer? You live in Disston and have a strong Neighborhood Association; have you been to a Meeting or contacted any of it’s officers? SPPD has a Homeless Services Officer who may have some strategies for you to employ. This area of 34th St. has a 30 yr. history of problems with prostitution & johns and vagrancy.

The sppd is being out witted by these criminals actions speek louder than words without any action they thrive this has become the sanctuary for law breakers Thats the reason the issue is still an issue if the system coddles these criminals vagrents transients hows it going to be resolved. been riding the pine time to get up off the bench and enforce the law for the law abiding citizens and not the other way around

Yes we've been to meetings and called the non-emergency number. In the process of doing some things myself.

I live off of 34th st and 32nd ave; I get up early to go to work they are there.... when I come home from work I see them;the homeless, prostitutes,druggies and their dealers hanging outside of the Speedway. Most times blocking the road so you have to go around them or their shopping carts. They act like they have stacked a claim and this is their neighborhood! even thought my family and I have worked hard for every thing we have; they have not and don't want to! why should they, the get it for free. They hanging around our alley causing our dogs to bark incessantly; very frustrating. I am a hard working citizen who pays taxes to the city, state and government for them to Serve and Protect; Well.... I have not seen much of SERVE and PROTECT going on in my neighborhood. It has gotten worse! the police have been called numerous times and they do nothing! it seems they don' care about serving or protecting. If something is not done soon to remove them, I am afraid they will take over the neighborhood and it won't be safe for any of us!!

I saw 1 sleeping this morning on the corner of 32nd ave N. & 30th St.N. This is crap!!! I started to walk over & he woke up. Not sure if he had a knife or not so I left him alone. He got up as I walked away. Would take too long to call police. They should patrol more.

Theres special units PATH special programs costing the tax payers millions of tax dollars that dont work

last night as I was exiting my car in front of my house, a car pulled up & a man offered to sell me drugs. This is the 3rd time this has happened. I live near WaWa. Same story.

Neighboorhood has becom a swamp its time to drain the swamp the city need to hire a civilian contractor that will address the issue not just give excuses

OK City of St.Pete. WE NEED MORE PATROLS!! Tired of the homeless zombies wandering the neighborhoods. Sometimes it's difficult to drive on 33rd ave by Speedway to get to 34th St because they just stand in the road or walk in the middle very slowly. Afraid to say anything for fear they will damage our property. Have already had them try & break in our yard thru our privacy fence.Had to re-secure it.

People need to keep calling the police. It is how it works. Businesses need to call the community service police for district 3 and fill out a blanket trespass warrant then the police will issue trespass warrants and no one needs to sign for it. Then when we see people sleeping at the buildings and call they get trespassed the first time and second they go to jail. They will leave the area to go somewhere they don't go to jail. If all the businesses get them they will have no where to sleep. Also there are very cheap camera called Wyze cameras for $30 that have great pictures and you can share it online so we could all help.

At one point about 5 years ago when it was really bad I was talking to some business owners about starting a business district so that they have the power to deal with this. It isn't 1 business owner going in and complaining, it is a rep representing all of them from central to 38th. They pay dues like $20 a month and that money is used to hire a security company to patrol the business district and call the police to report illegal activity. that will totally clean up 34th. Anyone interested in helping? Or you just want to complain on the Internet and fell like you did something?
