A very deep grate in front of McDonald's causes bone-jarring, tire-ruining impacts if you drive over it, which is sometimes unavoidable when traffic is heavy and you have no room to maeuver. Very dangerous as well as unpleasant, because drivers tend to swerve to avoid it.
