I am adding my complaint that this event was allowed to happen in this neighborhood. There were over 300 people with loud cars, burnouts, smoke, loud noise and driving up and down Flynn at speeds of more than 50 mph. They were serving food and liquor with no security. thank you to BPD for shutting it down.

I do not have an update from BPD one what action is pending. What I know is that they found it was not a permitted event. The event inside 208 Flynn was private and would not have required a permit from BPD. The drag racing occurred spontaneously as some of the participants independently chose to test their performance cars on Flynn Ave.
The Police Department found there was alcohol being served and they informed the Vermont Department of Liquor control.
If there is new information from either BPD or DLC I will post it here.

The investigation officer notified me of the following details.
The Bag Riders event that took place on August 3rd was an event hosted by the private property owner at 208 Flynn Avenue. The Liquor Control Board granted a special event permit allowing White Mountain Distillery (Stowe Cider) to sell their product, as the event was open to the public. The Burlington Police Department had not issued a permit because the event was not on public property and was not intended to involve road closures or disruptions.
The event was supposed to be in a small area within the parking lot at 208 Flynn. When it expanded outside that area, the Burlington Police became involved. The investigating officer was told by the property owner that the event turned into something they had not planned for. They agreed that in the future, if they hold this event or anything similar, they will use the assistance of BPD and reach out to the neighbors in advance.
The Vermont Department of Liquor Control issued an alcohol violation ticket to Stowe Cider for allowing open consumption.
