I second that thought -- unless the tree is truly diseased or dying it is a major asset. A quick look on google street view (attached) shows a gorgeous, healthy street tree of the kind that makes East Rock a wonderful place to live. We lost literally ALL our big street trees on Cottage Street in recent years and it has had a negative impact. That section of Edwards has a wonderful canopy and taking down that tree would create a hole.

Alder for ward 21 here - I agree unless there is an issue the tree should be left alone. Original poster, if you're interested in having the Parks Department inspect the tree, please repost under the tree trimming category - that will get routed to Parks' tree team.

Is there a secret as how to get Parks and Recreation trim a tree? I have called them for almost. 4 years to take care of the above mentioned tree. Do they actually exist? I thought maybe this avenue might work.

This issue has not been acknowledged by any department in the city since 8/6/18. Do you think working with your alder in tandem, you could some attention to your issue ? Not all departments monitor this site.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH -- The City team had an advisory there FYI: "We have a significant backlog and your report will be acknowledged when inspected by our Urban Forester. Please note, this inspection can in some instances take several months to be scheduled. Based on the determined level of hazard the trim or removal can take months or years thereafter. Because of the trees proximity to the beautiful stained glass windows, is there a way to flag the urgency? We have registered this tree,, it’s condition, and our concern years ago. I spoke to Anthony several times who registered the request, and several times, left a message. So already months and years have gone by. During a winter storm this year, a lot of damage was done, big limbs came down, etc. So again there is an urgency about this matter. The church is recognized as part of The Whitney Avenue Historic District.

I can follow up with Parks and see if there's any way to expedite its inspection
