Description
A car alarm at the auto repair shop went off at approximately 10:30 p.m. last night and continued on through the entire night. I contacted the police at 11 p.m., 12 a.m. again a little after 12 a.m., 1 a.m., and 4 a.m. According to the police, the owner was contacted a little after 11 p.m., he spoke with police and indicated he would arrive at the shop within the hour to turn the alarm off. He never showed up and did not answer his telephone for the rest of the night. I'm sure he turned his phone off so he could have a good night sleep without the bother of hearing from the police. This business is already an eyesore and in violation of the abandoned vehicles policy and now it has become a noise nuisance. The owner showed no regard for his neighbors when he chose to ignore the car alarm last night. What sanctions will the Code Enforcement place on this business for willful violation of the noise ordinance. If nothing is done, you are sending a clear signal to the owner of the business and to the neighboring property owners.
