Hello, my name is Alec Sartanowicz and I work for the city of Medford Engineering Department. I work closely with contractors to oversee the work for the Sidewalk Repair Request Contract. I got a chance to review your SeeClickFix request. Unfortunately, it does not fall under the purview of the current Sidewalk Repair Request Contract.
The contract that we currently have out is for fixing spot repairs of existing sidewalks. What you are requesting would require a contract with some design work and other specific items to have a non-existing sidewalk built.
I also believe we would have to have the sidewalk approved before we could consider building a new sidewalk. It would need to be approved by the mayor and or the City Council. Usually in cases like this, it helps to speak with the other residents in the area and get a petition started. A petition helps show the demand for a new sidewalk at that location.
