Depending on the nature of your request, our transportation engineer and/or our signal shop will respond within the next two weeks . In my opinion, a four way stop here would be best for the neighborhood safety and property values. A traffic light would be better suited for the intersection at Chestnut, where there is a church and businesses.

Public Works, Alameda Police, and the City’s Transportation Planning Unit prioritize improvements based a location’s history of collisions, police citations, its relationship with existing transportation plans and improvements, cost of the improvement given budget constraints, and suggestions from members of the public, such as yours. Please note that an all-way stop was installed at this intersection last year. The request is essentially approved and does not require further consideration with our annual reviews of traffic calming requests.
