Description

When traveling West on Elm St. (towards intersection with Lumber), there is a depressed drainage grate or man hole cover on right side of road, against curb. Right in front of 56 Elm. It is equivalent to a deep pothole and very difficult to see or avoid.

For drivers who do apparently know about it, they try to swerve around it, going into the oncoming lane, which poses a danger.

There is also another depressed grate a couple hundred feet before this one, near 42 Elm maybe, but it’s not as bad. Though certainly worth inspecting and fixing if the one near 56 is going to be looked at.
