152 Huntington Ave. has been vacant for YEARS! Same mess- all overgrown, broken windows etc. Imagine the poor people that have to live next door to this!

What has the city/water co. done? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Foreclose and sell the place and maybe someone will fix it up and give the neighbors a break. Then again, trying to get money out of the banks is a whole other story!

Making some progress! The dumpster from last Mother's Day is FINALLY gone! The neighbors must be rejoicing! I think the people who live here could appear on the TV show -HOARDERS!

The 2 foot high weeds in between the bushes has been cut. Still crap in the driveway, but looking a "little" better than it did previously. Most likely won't be ideal until it's sold or it burns again!

Still blighted. Now has a trashed red truck in the driveway.

What A crap hole this house is, does someone live there, it smells, heard the pipes were scrapped no heat, does it even have electricity, should be levled and the property divided up with the neighbors, do something new haven about this junk yard

The city does NOTHING about THIS house OR their OTHER one on Huntington Ave. which is in WORSE shape- doors hanging, broken windows, overgrown shrubs etc.

No heat and I heard no water either! I believe someone or something does live there! The green mold on the North side looks nice too. Hope the neighbors don't catch anything!

The son is still living in the house on Townsend and from what I can tell the mother is staying at the other house since she is hardly around anymore. This house is amazingly disgusting! The owners are a menace to the street. I just thank god they no longer have a pit bull named monster who bit everyone it could when it got out of the yard/house. which is why they probably have a lien on both of their houses. Pretty sure there is also some kind of drug activity.

while it was unattended the theft happened first it was emptied and in the process of renovation which was slow due to rxpenses. the dumpster that was there was emptied five times many people thought it was the same one and never moved lots of effort and money was spent to quell all the complaints but still everyone pressured the city like they are doing now basically to evict her and send her broke and out in the street originally when it burnrd down in 2000 it was paid for but the bank didnt notify her the insurance was canceled so no ionsurance to rebuild it was a new mortgage cause of her age only get 15 year so payments double ordinary thats why its so haed to finance improvments fines, leins ect plus rent to live elsewhere see? its tougher than you people think what if it was your mother? maybe we can get a little mercy from you people or even some help!!!

It doesn't matter how someone got in the house, it's done and over with, why don't some of you at least help out like neighbors should, what happened to "love thy neighbor". The woman is sick, the relatives want to renovate the house, but you all would rather have it torn down so the alderman can steal the property through the city blight law, that's what really going on here right, GOD doen't like dirty

Still there. Front door boarded up with some kind of notice, but the breezeway door still allows access to the house as can be seen by the shoveled pathway and footsteps. Maybe whoever stole the pipes came back to see what else they could salvage.

Status quo!

NOTHING has changed except that someone is still entering the house despite the boarded up front door! A window covering that was falling down, exposing the disaster inside, has been rehung very recently. I laugh when I see all those city trash pails outside which probably don't even belong to them because most of the trash is all over the ground.

The next thing to happen will probably be a "mysterious" house fire like the last time. With no copper pipes and no electrical meter outside, the only way a fire could start would be "spontaneous" combustion from all the crap piled up inside!

I just feel sorry for the poor people living on either side of this disaster who have to deal with this blight every day

all you people don't worry help is on the way no one is entering or living there money is being accumulated now to repair and renovate i feel it should be done all at once so once it has started their wont be any delay unless you would like to donate i cant make it go any faster but soon you wont even remember what it looked like the economy is tough and so is money but help is on the way and it wont happen again so please back off a little I'm doing the best i can like i said once it's started it won't stop

First off, if no one is entering the house, then it must be HAUNTED because things have moved! Whose footprints were those in the winter leading to the door to the breezway? How did the path get shoveled? Who fixed the "curtain" that was half hanging about a week ago to now being back up covering the "view" of the inside? How EXACTLY did this redone house get to be in such DIRE need of repairs and renovations when it was "rebuilt" in 2002? In 9 years it ended up like this? There are a LOT of things that do not add up here despite what you say.

NO CHANGE! Still a disaster!

The "ghost" of the house seems to have made another appearance lately. I think Charlie Sheen was there recently. There was a "Charlieism" sprayed on the garage door in black paint which has since been sprayed over with white paint. One his goddesses, who was peering through the breezeway window, seems to have left also.

The plywood blocking the front door has been taken down and is not resting against the side of the house. NO clue what is happening there. I just know it's still a disaster!

Well, the goddess has moved inside now. Jesus made an appearance recently with a cross leaning against the garage door with a black draping on it. The latest development is ANOTHER dumpster making an appearance. I can't imagine that there is MORE trash to throw out since previously there were large dumpsters there for MONTHS. This dumpster is a little smaller. An ever changing scene for a house that no one supposedly enters!

You know, this site is tremendously helpful for folks who have serious issues. The issue mentioned here was serious, but apparently the owner of the house is taking steps to remediate it. I have to laugh, because there are so many NHPD and NHFD that live in the cove, and when most of New Haven was suffering, cops and fire dept. made big bucks from overtime, "trying" to clean up the mess in some so-called bad sections. Now that there is a boarded up house in their precious cove, they bicker and whine, because the bank will not give them another cash-out refinance on their house. Boo hoo.

Maybe it's because the people in Morris Cove don't live like the SLOBS in other areas of New Haven. They try to keep up with things and NOT wait until their house is ready for the TV show HOARDERS! Besides, the house in question is in the Annex, NOT the Cove, but still close enough to be a PIG STY! Two police cars were there today. The dumpster that is there is already overflowing.

Maybe if YOU lived next door to that dump, you wouldn't be so high and mighty. If it was me, I'd be calling the city EVERY day until something was done. Maybe there'll be another "mysterious" fire and they can start from scratch again.

I feel sorry for the neighbors!

LOTS of police and fire activity there today! Doesn't look like the "repairs/renovations" are going too well!

It is OUT OF CONTROL now! The BEST thing would be to BULLDOZE it down! The poor neighbors have to put up with this blight and that nut! WHY aren't the police doing anything about the situation? The doors and garage are boarded up one day, but taken down the next? Legal notices that seem to be stapled to the plywood get covered up by the trash barrel lid so no one can read them. Most likely says NO TRESPASSING! Doesn't seem to stop anyone!

Looks like this disaster has been SAVED from the WRECKING ball and foreclosure AGAIN!! I don't know how they do it. The poor neighbors have had their hopes dashed again!

To the one person who keeps writing the same comments get a life and maybe try helping a neighbor.All the negetive things you write is not helping the problem.Get a heart and try helping a person out.You loser.

I gotta tell you.....live near the Cove, and there are a lot of folks that think they are Champagne rich, and on a beer budget. Between the boats in yards, people renting out their basements for extra cash, and just plain trashy folk, this guy in the green mercedes fits right in. The difference is that you can see the trash on the outside, not just in. I'm just sayin! I'll say it again for the cheap seats in the back.......Morris Cove is loaded with ex-NHPD and fire department losers who are sucking off a come-to-find-out not so generous pension, and they all think they be like da rich folk. Well, you are just like everyone else. That dirty pension money is not going as far as you thought it would. You should make peace with your neighbor, and pray,....the city of new haven is going to declare bankruptcy within 5 years. When that nice fat pension check stops coming in, and you have to pay for your own healthcare - my friend, THEN you will have some serious barking to do. Save your energy!
