Thank you for reporting this issue. The dockless bike share company has been notified of this concern. The City will relocate or remove the bike from the public right-of-way or anywhere within the City each bicycle that is inoperable, unsafe, or otherwise failing to meet the standards set in the Ordinance. The dockless bike company has to follow the following requirements before the City will take action:
(1) Remove the bike within two hours of when operator becomes aware of or receives notice between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., seven days per week, except a holiday observed by the closure of City offices; and
(2) Remove the bike within 12 hours of when operator becomes aware of or receives notice during all other times.
Given the requirement to pick up the bikes, would it not be a good idea for the City of CS to REQUIRE that a phone number be on the bike so we don;t have to go through SCF? I'd have called on day one if I had a number.
Thank you for your question. Right now, we are processing their permit per Ordinance. One of the requirements of the permit is to make sure that there is up-to-date contact information on the bikes as well as on the permit itself. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
